Did you know obese people snore more often ?

It’s one of the most embarrassing problems in life. It is something you can’t help. It is called snoring.

Why exactly do we snore?
We snore because of weakness of throat tissues. The throat closes when we sleep and affects our breathing and consequently we snore.

It’s very important to stay slim and trim to avoid snoring. Fatty tissues in and around the throat block air passage.

Apart from preventing obesity,

  • avoid smoking and drinking before going to bed to avoid snoring.
  • If you are suffering from cold clear your nasal passage before going to bed.
  • Certain asanas help those prone to snoring. Sit in Sukhana, inhale with both nostrils, contract your neck muscles and produce a continuously sobbing sound. Hold your breath as long as possible. Then form the pranayam mudra, close your right nostril with the right thumb and exhale slowly through the left nostril. Repeat it.
